- Uploaded Documents: Files you upload for record-keeping purposes. You are solely responsible for ensuring these documents do not contain Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Communications: When you contact us, we may collect your email address and the content of your messages.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent on pages, and other usage statistics.
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device type, and IP address.

AssociateSafe is a personal financial tracking tool. It is NOT a healthcare provider, health plan, healthcare clearinghouse, or Business Associate as defined under HIPAA. AssociateSafe is NOT subject to HIPAA regulations.
You are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring that any documents you upload do not contain Protected Health Information (PHI), including patient names, contact information, medical records, or any other individually identifiable health information.
- Redacting or removing all PHI before uploading documents to the Service.
- Complying with HIPAA and any other applicable privacy regulations if you are a covered entity or work for one.
We do not monitor, review, or filter the content of uploaded documents. Any PHI that you upload is uploaded at your own risk and against our Terms of Service.
10. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on the Service and hold certain information. Types of cookies we use include:
- Essential Cookies: Required for the Service to function (e.g., session management, authentication).
- Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how visitors interact with the Service to improve user experience.
- Preference Cookies: Remember your preferences and settings (e.g., dark mode).

- Google: Sign-in (OAuth), Google Drive file storage — your documents and data live in your own Google Drive — and optional Cloud Vision document scanning (Privacy Policy)

12. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
